Building with each other, for each other and on each other, 36 years and counting…still doing it The Hard Way – Against All Odds
Each of the four extraordinary personalities in their own rite, have figured out a way to harness the essence of teamwork, longevity, loyalty, brotherly love and togetherness, to create the multi-million-dollar company called ComproTax, headquartered in Beaumont, Texas. Using all the elements mentioned above they’ve successfully experienced 36 years of building a legacy together with over 125 tax accounting offices and hundreds of affiliates in many states including; Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Philadelphia and Washington Dc.
Using Black Wall Street and the Tulsa Riots in the first segment of 4 THE HARD WAY as an example, we will show that there was a time in America’s history where black business thrived and successful Black Business Men & Women were the ‘norm’.
In this segment of the documentary we will explore the realness of the mental programming that may in some way be responsible for African American people not reaching their highest potential, not only in business but in life as well. With the incorporation of the late Dr. Ed Robinson’s theory, utilizing excerpts from some of his historical interviews, we will attempt to not only identify and address the problems but we will present solutions as well.
In addition, we will look at some attempts of businesses throughout the years that have had problems surviving based on what Dr. Edward Robinson, Jr. termed ‘THE PROBLEM’.
As a team, they hold the secrets of how to keep a black owned business going for 36 years and they’re willing to share these secrets with you. In sharing the history of the four individual men leading into ComproTax, we will start with the dream they had back in 1982. We’ll discuss how their company was built on the idea of providing excellent, courteous, and professional service in the area of Tax Preparation and other financial services.
During this period, we will also talk about their involvement with the unfortunate demise of one of the fastest growing Black unifying businesses, MATAH, and its fallen leader Ken Bridges whose life was cut short by the hands of the DC Sniper. Ken and his wife, through never seen historical video, will talk about the need to work together to achieve the ultimate goal of success.
