PHILADELPHIA'S ARCHITECT OF VISION

Robert "Bob" Lott

"ARCHITECT Of VISION" is a film in production about the man who created a successful business in video.


  • Before entering the television industry, Lott was an award winning senior associate in a prestigious architectural firm, responsible for the design, form and execution of numerous buildings including about 20 churches. His creative accomplishments in that industry made the transition to television and film an easy one.


  • Lott is one of only a handful of producers with a successful track record in syndication with his first syndicated hit, The Gavin & Lott Show that he also co-hosted and aired for 2 years in over 75% of the country.


  • He was President for 4 years of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Black Music Association and a member of the National Executive Committee.


  • Over the years Bob worked with many recording artists including Teddy Pendergrass, Patti LaBelle, The O'Jays, Jerry Butler and many, many others. 


  • Bob has travelled abroad many times including ten trips to Egypt, four trips to Ghana and trips to Morocco, Spain, Paris, London and Brazil with an organization called African Genesis Institute. As a result, two full length documentaries were produced with one of them winning several awards in various film festivals including a first prize.


  • Bob produced a film on the last 100 years of African Americans in sports who emanated from the University of Pittsburgh. The film. “Athletes At Pitt: The forefront Of Change”, utilized the on camera hosting talents of Bob Costas (NBC), Fredricka Whitfield (CNN), and legendary broadcaster, Jack Whitaker.


  • Bob produced a short 16mm diversity film, entitled: “People Like Me”, which became the nucleus in diversity training for one of the major health companies in Philadelphia now known as AmeriHealth.


  • He produced a documentary on Joe Frazier which included many fight stars, movie and TV celebrities along with the Frazier family


  • Bob produced the documentary “I Am An American” about the making of the patriot song of the same name, produced by legendary music producer Kenny Gamble and featuring Pattie LaBelle. The film was acknowledged and screened as a World Premier at the San Diego Black Film Festival


  • Bob has produced, music videos, eleven 30 minute infomercials that aired nationally, along with TV commercials, promotional/sales tapes and videos for numerous corporations and non-profits.


  • His latest films include: Global Assignment-The Life and Times of Dr. Runoko Rashidi, The Birth of Black Film, Victim No More-The Joan Pendergrass Story, Music, Maestro Please:-The Phil Cohran Story and Still Fighting The Goode Fight- Former Philly Mayor W. Wilson Goode.

Gavin & Lott Associates 1982

Gavin & Lott Associates (Walt Gavin , Jacqueline McNichols and Bob Lott) started in 1982 as producers of many kinds of video projects. They were featured on a Philadelphia Television program while they were producing a music video on a first time recording artist when music videos were just getting started. 

Gavin & Lott Syndicated TV Show 1983-1985

The "The Gavin & Lott Show", was the first Black Music program on broadcast television airing in 55 cities nationwide for two years. Afterwards Bob Lott produced and syndicated a second show "City Sounds" hosted by Philadelphia radio personally Doug Henderson which also aired for two years in over 40 markets nationwide.
